Blind rivets for panel and sheet assemblies.
Blind rivets join a material stack using access from one side. Choose the rivet for the prepared hole, total stack thickness and required joint performance. Webson can quote complete manufacturer numbers or the fastening requirements on your drawing.

| Component | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Open-end blind rivets | Use the selected body and mandrel arrangement for blind setting. | Diameter, grip, head and both body and mandrel materials. |
| Closed-end styles | Use a closed body configuration for the specified application. | Exact part, installed arrangement and any sealing requirement. |
| Multi-grip designs | Cover the manufacturer’s stated range of material thicknesses. | Published grip range, hole limits and setting instructions. |
| Specified structural designs | Meet the particular system and approved joint requirements. | Full designation, performance requirements, tooling and inspection. |
Check stack, hole and blind-side space
Two rivets with the same body diameter can have different grip ranges, heads, materials or setting requirements. Do not use the apparent length of an installed rivet to identify the original part. Start with the drawing or manufacturer designation.

| Feature | Information to send | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Grip | Total material thickness at the joint. | Use a part whose stated grip range covers that stack. |
| Body and hole | Nominal body diameter and specified hole tolerance. | Use the exact manufacturer’s hole requirement. |
| Head | Head form, diameter and any countersink requirement. | Check bearing area and allowable projection. |
| Blind-side clearance | Space behind the stack for setting and the installed rivet. | Check nearby components and the completed joint envelope. |
| Setting | Compatible tool, nosepiece and required procedure. | Preserve any mandrel-retention and inspection requirements. |
Body and mandrel materials are separate details
A rivet description may identify more than one material because the body and mandrel can differ. Preserve that combination, along with finish and required documentation. For dissimilar materials or exposure conditions, follow the approved joint requirement.
Permanent fastening and threaded attachment are different choices
Blind rivets make a set joint. Rivet nuts provide a threaded point for a separate screw. If the panel must be removed regularly, identify that service requirement rather than treating the two products as substitutes.
Before you order
Is grip range the same as rivet length?
No. Grip range states the material thickness the selected rivet is designed to fasten. Rivet length is a separate dimension.
Does the nominal rivet diameter define the drill size?
Use the specified hole size and tolerance for the exact product. A nominal diameter alone is not the complete hole requirement.
Can a closed-end rivet guarantee a sealed enclosure?
The complete joint and installed product determine sealing. Include the required rating or acceptance test with the part requirement.
