// PRODUCT SELECTION
Security screws with a defined drive and service plan.
A security fastener is selected for both the joint and the intended access arrangement. Send Webson the exact drive designation or manufacturer number, along with the screw dimensions and any matching-tool requirement.

| Component | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Pin or special-recess drives | Use the matching driver for the specified recess. | Exact system, drive size and approved tool. |
| Proprietary drive systems | Use the manufacturer’s defined fastener and tool arrangement. | Complete designation and any tool-supply restrictions. |
| One-way or permanent-access designs | Follow a particular installation and removal strategy. | Approved application, installation and service procedure. |
| Drawing-specific security hardware | Combines special geometry or access features. | Current drawing, drive requirements and inspection criteria. |
A special drive still needs a complete screw specification
Confirm the thread, head, length and bearing arrangement as well as the recess. Check the space available for the matching tool. A change in drive system can affect service access even when the screw fits the same tapped hole.

| Feature | Information to send | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Drive | Manufacturer system, size and matching tool. | Do not identify the system from a generic label alone. |
| Thread and length | Full thread callout and length convention. | Check mating engagement and installed reach. |
| Head | Head form, diameter, height and any countersink. | Confirm seating and surrounding clearance. |
| Material and finish | Grade, coating and process requirements. | Security features do not define strength or corrosion performance. |
Describe the intended access requirement
Identify how the assembly is installed, maintained and serviced, and whether tools must be supplied with the order. Special-drive hardware can restrict access in a specified way; no drive name alone guarantees that an assembly cannot be opened.
Equipment covers and controlled service access
Security screws are used where the design calls for a particular access method. Preserve the approved fastener-and-tool designation on repeat orders. If an alternative is requested, include the service and access requirements so they can be reviewed alongside the joint fit.
Before you order
Does tamper-resistant mean impossible to remove?
No. Describe the intended access control and use the approved product and installation arrangement.
Will a bit with a similar pattern work?
Use the matching driver specified for the exact system and size. A similar appearance is not a tool compatibility check.
Can tools be included in the quote?
List the driver or bit designation and quantity with the fasteners, including any manufacturer supply restrictions.
Send the fastener and tool designations
Include the full part number or drawing, quantity, delivery date, drive system, thread, length, head style, grade and finish. Add required tools and documentation.
