Mil-Spec RFQ checklist.
Bring the part number, schedule and quality requirements together for a more complete fastener inquiry.

What to send with your request
A complete requirement lets Webson review the part, delivery needs and documentation together. You do not need every answer to start an inquiry. Send what you have and identify any details that still need clarification.
| RFQ detail | What to include | Example or prompt |
|---|---|---|
| Complete part number | Copy every prefix, dash number and suffix exactly. List each part on a separate line. | MS51830CA106L; quantity 250 |
| Drawing and revision | Include the governing drawing number, revision and any specification issue stated on the order. | Drawing number / revision / applicable notes |
| Quantity and schedule | State the initial quantity, required delivery date and any recurring demand or scheduled releases. | Initial order / annual usage / required date |
| Material and finish | Retain the specified alloy, condition, coating, class and lubricant requirements. | Material / heat treatment / finish / lubrication |
| Quality documentation | Identify the exact certificates, reports and traceability needed with delivery. | Certificate of conformance / manufacturer certificate / material or test reports |
| Source and order restrictions | Provide approved-manufacturer requirements, source restrictions, flow-down clauses and packaging or labeling instructions. | Approved sources / lot controls / package quantities |
| Alternatives | Say whether alternatives may be proposed and who must approve them. | Exact requirement only, or alternatives for separate review |
// RFQ OUTLINE
A simple format for a multi-line inquiry
Copy the following outline into the part-number and specification field on our quote form, or use the same headings in your own bill of material.
Company / contact: Part number(s): Quantity for each part: Required delivery date: Drawing / specification / revision: Material / finish / lubricant: Required certificates and reports: Approved sources or other restrictions: Alternatives permitted for review: Additional notes:
For multiple items, attach a spreadsheet or list with a separate row for each complete part number. Put shared quality clauses in the supporting documentation and identify any requirements that apply only to specific lines.
// QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
Documentation worth clarifying before the quote
| Item | Reference |
|---|---|
| Distributor certificate of conformance | Specify the conformance statement required for the supplied goods. |
| Manufacturer certificate | State explicitly when documentation from the original manufacturing source is required. |
| Material and test reports | Identify the required report types and their connection to the supplied lot. |
| Traceability | Define whether manufacturer, lot, heat or other traceability is required. |
| Inspection or first-article requirements | Include the applicable clauses, report format and approval requirements at the RFQ stage. |
These are different documentation requests. Tell Webson which are required so they can be considered during quotation; a document listed here is not a promise that it is available for every item.
// GET HELP FROM WEBSON
Have an incomplete number or a difficult requirement?
Send the designation you have, the hardware description, the quantity and any available drawing details. A photo can help identify the head or drive style, but it does not establish material, strength, tolerances or compliance.
If your documentation requires a specific transfer method, contact Webson to arrange it before sending files. The standard quote form accepts attachments up to a combined 10 MB.
