| Component | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Standard locking ties | Close around a bundle using the specified one-way locking head. | Bundle range, strap dimensions and material. |
| Releasable ties | Allow opening and reuse where the design permits. | Release access and the manufacturer’s intended use. |
| Mounting ties and bases | Locate the bundle at a specified attachment point. | Tie compatibility, mounting method, panel details and base dimensions. |
| Identification or special-material ties | Provide a marking area or a specified material configuration. | Marking method, material grade and service requirements. |
Check the bundle, strap and mounting point
Include sleeving and protective layers in the finished bundle size. If a tie mounts to a panel or base, identify that attachment separately. A cable tie’s stated strength is not automatically a rating for the complete installed wiring support.

| Feature | Information to send | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Bundle range | Minimum and maximum bundle size for the selected tie. | Include all layers present during installation. |
| Strap and head | Length, width, thickness and head envelope. | Check access and clearance to covers and adjacent bundles. |
| Mounting | Screw, push-mount, adhesive base or another specified attachment. | Confirm panel thickness, hole and surface requirements. |
| Installation | Tool, tension and cut-off requirements where specified. | Avoid treating strap strength as an installation-tension instruction. |
Identify the grade needed for the environment
Include the material designation and required temperature, outdoor exposure, flammability or other criteria. A black tie is not automatically a particular UV-resistant grade. For adhesive mounting bases, identify the base and adhesive system as well as the tie.
Production wiring and service access
Cable ties bundle and organize wiring in chassis, cabinets and electronic equipment. Releasable designs may suit areas opened during service; other installations call for a fixed arrangement. List the tie and mounting accessory together so the complete requirement can be quoted.
Before you order
Can I select a tie by overall length alone?
Use the stated bundle range, strap dimensions and material as well. Overall length does not directly state installed bundle capacity.
Does black mean UV resistant?
Use the manufacturer’s material and product designation. Color alone does not establish the required outdoor performance.
Are mounting bases universal?
Check the permitted tie dimensions, attachment method and installation conditions for the selected base.
Include ties and mounts in the same inquiry
