Cable clamps for chassis and equipment wiring.

A cable clamp holds a cable, bundle or tube along its intended route. Start with the size being supported and the mounting surface, then check the clamp’s closure, material and clearance. Send Webson the part number or routing requirement for a quote.

ComponentWhat it doesWhat to specify
P-style clampsWrap around the supported item and attach at a mounting point.Bundle size, mounting hole, width and mounting offset.
Cushioned clampsUse a specified lining between the clamp and supported item.Cushion material, fit, environmental conditions and part designation.
Molded cable clampsProvide a shaped support or closure in a specified plastic.Cable range, mounting method, material grade and operating environment.
Snap or blind-mount stylesUse the specified panel attachment or closure arrangement.Hole and panel requirements, closure access and whether the cable is fitted before or after mounting.

Check the cable fit and mounting fit separately

A nominal clamp size does not define every installation dimension. Compare the supported diameter, mounting-hole size and distance from the mounting point to the cable route. Leave access to install and service the clamp without forcing the cable into an unsuitable bend.

FeatureInformation to sendWhat to check
Supported diameterActual cable, sleeved bundle or tube outside size.Use the manufacturer’s stated fit or clamping range.
Mounting featureHole size, fastener or specified push-in attachment.Match the panel thickness and hole preparation where required.
Clamp width and offsetWidth at the supported item and position relative to the mounting point.Check neighboring wiring, panels and covers.
Lining or cushionMaterial and thickness for the selected part.Include temperature, chemical and cable-jacket compatibility requirements.
Access and closureHow the clamp opens, closes and is fixed in place.Check installation order and service access.

State what the clamp will be exposed to

Include temperature, fluids, cleaning agents, outdoor exposure and any specified vibration or retention requirement. Metal, cushion and molded materials should be identified by the drawing or full part number. A cushioned appearance alone does not establish a rating.

Support along the route and protection at the panel

Clamps organize and support wiring inside chassis, cabinets and equipment. At a panel pass-through, a separate grommet, bushing or strain-relief product may be required. Identify whether the clamp is for routing, a defined retention load or another specified function.

Before you order

Is the mounting screw size the clamp size?

No. The clamp size describes the supported item under the manufacturer’s convention. The mounting hole and compatible fastener are separate details.

Can a cushioned clamp replace an unlined clamp?

Compare the full dimensions, material and function. The lining changes the interface and may change the fit or environmental suitability.

Does any cable clamp provide strain relief?

Use the part’s stated function and retention data. A routing support is not automatically a qualified strain-relief arrangement.

Include the bundle and mounting details

Send the complete part number or drawing, quantity, requested delivery date, supported diameter, mounting details and material. Include cushion specifications, service conditions and required documentation.
