// PRODUCT SELECTION
Disc springs specified by load and deflection.
A disc spring is selected for its behavior at a defined working position, not just its outside diameter. Webson can quote the complete spring designation or a controlled drawing, including a specified stack when the assembly calls for one.

| Component | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Individual disc springs | Use a single specified spring geometry and condition. | Full designation, dimensions and load requirements. |
| Series arrangements | Use the defined alternating arrangement for the assembly. | Number, orientation, guide details and complete stack requirement. |
| Parallel arrangements | Use the defined nested arrangement. | Disc count, orientation and approved performance requirement. |
| Preassembled stacks | Arrive in the stated order and supplied condition. | Stack drawing, identification, lubrication and packaging. |
Geometry and working position belong together
Outside diameter, inside diameter, thickness and free height describe important geometry. They do not replace a load-deflection requirement or identify every permitted operating condition. Use the manufacturer data or controlled spring drawing.

| Feature | Information to send | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Diameters | Outside and inside dimensions with tolerances. | Check the guide and surrounding assembly clearances. |
| Thickness and height | Material thickness and specified free or installed height. | Keep measurement conventions explicit. |
| Load and deflection | Required force at the stated working position. | Preserve the acceptance conditions and tolerances. |
| Stack and guidance | Disc count, orientation, guide and supplied arrangement. | A different stack arrangement changes the requirement. |
Keep material and operating conditions with the spring
Include material, heat treatment or condition, finish and any lubrication requirement. Add temperature, cycling and environmental criteria where controlled. A similar conical washer is not automatically equivalent to a specified disc spring.
Springs within a controlled assembly
Disc springs are used where the design calls for a defined spring response within the available space. Send the approved stack or assembly drawing when the order includes more than one disc. Any proposed change needs the complete spring requirement, not just a dimensional comparison.
Before you order
Can I choose a disc spring by diameter and thickness?
Also include free height, material and the required load-deflection behavior.
Are different stack orientations interchangeable?
No. Preserve the approved number and orientation of discs and the assembly requirements.
Can a stack be supplied ready for installation?
Send the stack drawing, required condition, identification and packaging. Webson can review the sourcing requirement.
Quote the spring and its working conditions
Include the full designation or drawing, quantity, delivery date, dimensions, load-deflection requirement and material. Add stack, lubrication, testing and packaging requirements.
