Bearings identified by the complete designation.
The basic bearing number may leave out seals, clearance, cage or other configuration details. Send Webson the full manufacturer designation, including prefixes and suffixes, when requesting a replacement bearing.

| Component | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Ball bearings | Use the type and configuration specified for the equipment. | Complete designation, boundary dimensions and required variants. |
| Roller bearings | Follow the selected roller type and installed arrangement. | Exact series, components and matched-set requirements where applicable. |
| Mounted bearing units | Combine the specified bearing with its housing or mounting arrangement. | Complete unit number, shaft interface and mounting details. |
| Replacement components or sets | Supply the components defined by the equipment specification. | Full part list and any matching or pairing requirements. |
Dimensions help identify the part; the designation completes it
Bore, outside diameter and width describe important boundary dimensions. They do not establish every bearing configuration or an approved substitution. Manufacturer-specific supplementary codes should be checked against the original requirement.
On a small screen, scroll sideways to see the full table.
| Feature | Information to send | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Boundary dimensions | Bore, outside diameter and the correct width or assembled-width callout. | Compare to the exact type and equipment drawing. |
| Configuration | Seals, shields, grooves and other external features. | Preserve the full prefix and suffix designation. |
| Internal requirements | Clearance, precision, cage, lubricant or other specified variants. | Do not infer these from the basic number or external measurements. |
| Installed arrangement | Shaft/housing details and any matched components. | Follow the approved equipment and bearing specification. |
Use the approved replacement requirement
Include material, lubrication and environmental requirements when they are controlled. If a change of manufacturer or designation is proposed, review the complete configuration rather than treating matching dimensions as automatic approval.
Identifying a bearing for quotation
The original manufacturer number, equipment part list and packaging label are useful starting points. Photos of markings can support identification, but a worn bearing or abbreviated marking may not show the full purchasing requirement. Include required traceability and source restrictions.
Before you order
Can I replace a bearing using only bore, outside diameter and width?
Use those dimensions to identify candidates, then confirm the type and complete configuration against the approved requirement.
Are suffix codes identical between manufacturers?
Not necessarily. Supplementary codes may be manufacturer-specific. Preserve the original full designation and check any proposed equivalent.
What if the marking is incomplete?
Send the available marking, packaging, equipment reference and measurements. Identify any configuration or source requirements known from the original part list.
Send the full bearing number
Include manufacturer, complete designation, quantity and delivery date. Add equipment references, required documentation and any approved-source or substitution restrictions.
