Plain, slotted, prevailing-torque and nonmetallic-insert nuts differ in more than appearance. Height, wrench size and bearing features can matter in an existing assembly.
MS21042 is a reduced-height locking family. A regular-height or insert-style locknut should be reviewed against the drawing rather than selected by matching thread size alone.
